Located to the East of downtown Nashville. East Nashville is a mix of residential and mixed-use properties. Before it’s recent development, the area was mostly farms and trading posts. It became known as the “East End” when the population growth began to utilize this area of town to set-up residence. Families began to buy and build homes in the area and many of the houses you see today showcase the original Victorian style and craftsmanship.
The main stretch is Gallatin Avenue and Ellington Parkway. Smaller neighborhoods are found along the way such as Edgefield and Lockeland Springs. It’s a beautiful area if you are looking for a community that is a mix of residential, commercial, and outdoors as it hosts both Shelby Park and Shelby Bottoms. There are plenty of local eateries, music venues, and shopping found in East Nashville.
