Downtown Nashville is the hub of the entertainment that makes up Music City. Within a short stretch of land, tourists and residents alike are treated to some of the country’s top music venues. The city of Nashville is the most metropolitan in the state of Tennessee. It was named for Francis Nash, a general during the Revolutionary War, and who helped with its establishment. Because of its location, it developed quickly.
Nashville is synonymous with country music and is how it earned its moniker Music City. Broadway, which runs through downtown is almost entirely dedicated to bars and venues playing some of music’s up-and-coming names. Some artists like Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson made their first appearances on Broadway. From the Frist Art Museum to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Downtown Nashville hosts a mixture of cultural influences.
